- Here are some of the objects of value that are got at certain feastdays in my district. Saint Briget's Cross, Saint Patrick's cross, The Shamrock, holy-water at Easter, palm on Palm Sunday, holly a Christmas.
I will describe the making of (Two little pieces) Saint Bridgets Cross. Two little pieces of sticks are cut and put across other in the shape of a cross. Straw was then plaited round them. This cross was usually put behind the couples of the kitchen and it is considered unlucky if it happens to fall to the ground.
There are people still living in my district who continue to put May flowers over the byre door on the first of May, and others tie a bunch of Rowan berry branches to each cow's tail. This(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
