- In olden times some people round our district wore boots when they were twenty years, others forty.
People going to Cavan town brought their boots under their arm till they went to the Lough Hill then they put them on and took them off in the same place coming home. Children go barefooted during the summer months. People throw out the water after they wash their feet.
You should not throw it out after sunset if you do fairies will come to your house that night.
