  1. There is a story told about the Ráithin in "Mr. Thomas Byrne's" field.
    It is said one time a man was cutting bushes on the ditch of the Ráithin with a hook and after he had cut a few bushes, he got a pain in his hand and he could not move it or straighten it ever after. It is said it is unlucky to touch a Ráithin.
    There was another Ráithin around here and the man that owned it moved it away because his stock died.
    The Danes were supposed to be connected with the Ráithíns.
    A great many people saw lights and heard horses' galloping in the Raithin of "Mr. Doyle's."
