This story was told me.
A woman of the village had an abnormal appetite and was also very fond of her sup.
When she neared a public house the wolf became very active and tore her inside till she had to go in to satisfy its thirst and the same thing happened when any food was about, especially anything dainty or with a relish about it.
Things went to such a pass that this woman at length applied to a wise woman of the parish for her help.
She told the wolf woman to buy a pound of nice thick juicy beefsteak and keep frying and turning it in the pan and on no account to eat any of it.
She did so and as the odour of the frying meat rose up the wolf tore and tore hoping to get some.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
