- Close to the Club house at Killcroney near Bray stands the ruins of one of the oldest churches in Ireland. The Church of St Croine was founded in the fifth century. St Croine herself was related to St ColumbaThe doorway is the chief feature, it is six feet high and composed of four stones on one side and five on the other, running the entire thickness of the massive wall. The lintel being a single stone three feet ten inches long and fifteen inches deep. The window is on the inside a huge opening over 3 feet in width gradually diminishing to two feet in hight and seven inches wide on the outside of the wall.
