  1. We have a dash churn at home. It is about four feet high and two feet wide on top and three feet on the bottom. We churn the cream once a week. We have forty pounds of butter weekly since Spring came in. We get one shilling and sixpence per pound for it in Carlow.
    It takes about an hour and a half to churn in Summer and two hours in Winter. We use the butter milk for wetting bread and it is a great cure for indigestion also
