  1. Years ago there was a great number of crafts in operation in this district. There was nearly a cooper in every district in this locality some years ago but they have all died except one who lives in Muckalee, named Brennan the Cooper. There were two coopers in this district. One of them lived in Coolcullen and the other lived in Coone where the present boys school is situated. Their trade consisted of the making of cans, firkins, keelins dash churns. The man in Coolcullen had a similar trade. But the present cooper in Muckalee creamery butter.
