  1. Funny Stories
About thirty years ago three neighbours came into Gitton's to ramble and Mrs Gittons poured out some whiskey for each. One of them had an empty whiskey bottle. She was a Toper and, as the three ramblers sat around the fire, this woman produced her bottle and said to her comrades: "Now see, who will drink the most Uisge Beatha". When they agreed she said "Now, all pour your Uisge Beatha to this bottle. I shall pour mine in first, the next woman poured in her shared second and the third woman last.
During the night the Toper got dry and drank all the "Uisge Beatha". In the morning the bottle was empty and the other competitors had to go without their share. When they asked the Toper where was their whiskey she said she didn't know. After a while she said "I got thirsty during the night and I had to drink your shares to get at my own".
