    On Ash Wednesday people tie pieces of paper to each others clothes as a joke. These are called "Ash bags"
    (5) Fools Day
    Fools day or the first of April is a day of great fun for (y) the young people. They make fools of each other for example, by saying "Your shoe is open" and when you stoop to tie it you find it is not opened at all. Then they say "Fool, fool, April fool."
    (6) Good Friday
    Long ago on Good Friday the people used to put no cream in their tea (on) and no butter on their bread, in honour of the sufferings of Our Lord.
    2(7) On good Friday you should not drive a nail because you would be imitating the jews.
    (8) The eggs of a black hen that are laid on Good Friday are eaten on Easter Sunday.
    (9) Easter Sunday
    On Easter Sunday morning eggs are eaten in plenty and some people eat three or four.
