People do Novenas on Good Friday for different ailments and are supposed to be cured. There is a day of the year called Cross day. It happens to be Whit Monday. If a child is born on Whit Monday, some terrible misfortune is supposed to befall it. There are days of the year supposed to be unlucky to plant or sow seeds. The first of January is unlucky to plant trees and flowers. Monday is a lucky day to plough or sow crops, Monday is called the plough man's day. There is an old saying, that the month of April borrows three days in March to skin the old cow.Friday is the lucky day for moving into a new house.
