Adjoining Ballyhassan is Ballintemple. The ruins of the old church are still to be seen there. A graveyard surrounds the church and a wall surrounds the graveyard. Tombstones are to be seen to the present day in the graveyard. In the graveyard over a grave there is a slab tomb. The inscription on it is in Irish and when translated means, "Erected to the memory of Eileen McDermott by her husband Lysaght O'Moore". Some say a priest is buried there also.When they were building the church one day three men went by. They said to the builders, "God save the work" and the builders laughed at them. After that every stone they put up fell down again. After a while they came to the conclusion it was the three men's about this and they followed them.
