    noblest of the two races must now be sought for in the sad and sullied pages of Irish history. With the building of Dunbrody the two races came in contact in deadly conflict, nor did the conflict for a moment cease during the three and a half centuries of its magnificence and splendour.
    No sooner had the hand of destruction fallen on Dunbrody and all it stood for in a spiritual sense, than the two races fell into each others arms. They were henceforth both brothers in misfortune and brothers-in-arms in defence of the ancient faith of their fathers; their blood mingled in the same martyr's grave.
