- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)There are three graveyards in this parish.
Their names are Rathaspic, Russagh, and Rathowen.
Rathaspic is situated in the townland of Rathaspie.
It is the oldest graveyard of all three.
It is round in shape and rises in the centre and then slopes gently to the sides.
There are 2 large ash trees in it and some yew trees.
It is still used for burials. Some of the graves have been re-opened hundreds of times, to allow some relation, or some member of one's own family to be buried there.
There is a church, now in ruins, in the graveyard. It is still to be seen.
About half-a-mile away on Corrán Hill there are remains of an old Abbey or bishop's Palace. The name of the district, Rathaspic, means "The Bishop's Fort"
