- There is a fort in the townland of Rath. It was once opened by a man named Mr. Meehan. He sent his men out to dig the circle that was in the centre of it. They dug for three days and on the third day they met with a big flat stone with a man's head carved upon it. Every morning while he was digging it, some of his stock died. When he saw what was happening he stopped the work. For two or three days after this he met with a lot of mishaps.
After this people were afraid to go near it because they thought they were fairies in it.
