  1. Hidden Treasure
About the year 1860 there was a man named Peter Cunningham living in this parish. He had a lot of money so he buried some of it in a field in Ballinaderra so that when he wanted it he could get it. When he was burying it a poor man named Tom Reilly saw him so when he went home Tom went to dig for it. He found it and went away and lived happily. After a few years Tom Reilly got a big wart on his hand and he heard that Pat Cunningham had a cure for warts. He came to Pat one day to get his wart cured, so Pat cured it and Pat said to him "The last time I met you you were poor and now you are wealthy. How is that?"Tom replied "One day I saw a man hiding money and I went and I took it" Pat said "It was I that hid it" and when Tom heard that he paid him back all the money and the two of them lived happily ever after.
