    he saw a pedlar lying in the ditch covered with blood. He looked around and saw two men searching the pedlar's bag.
    They were making up their minds to kill Sean, but he set off for a barrack. He got two guards to go with him. When the guards came they arrested the two men and also took the pedlar to the barrack. They were keeping Sean for a witness. That night he stole from the barrack.
