  1. Long ago there was a widow. She had one son named John. They were very poor John father was a roman soldier. They lived in a small hut in a bog. When John grew up he became a roman soldier like his father. After twenty years he retired. He came home to his mother. His mother was about ninety years of age. One night he was coming home from playing cards he came to the pigeons house and he met a man with a gun and a dog and fire coming of his mouth. The man called over John
