The table was put beside the wall when not in use and it was pulled out to the centre of the kitchen when in use. Oaten bread was made with oatenmeal and water and baked on a griddle or before a fire. They used to eat boxty as well.
Flummery or sounds was made in this district up to othirty years ago and was used as a drink or with porridge instead of milk on the black fast days.
