  1. About twelve years ago there was going to be a boat race on Derravaragh lake, off the Donore shore. Faughalstown's boat racing team were to take part in the competition. On the night previous to the day on which the event was to be held the boat in which the Faughalstown team were to row and the boat belonging to the Clonave team were drowned. It was never known who was responsible for it.
    A few years before that a turf-cot was drowned. It was capable of holding forty boxes of
