  1. A Cavan Legend
    Many years ago there lived in cavan a rich Squire who owned a fine Mansion and rich pasture land from which the Irish natives had been evicted in the days of his ancestors.
    The squire, a celebrated sportsman spent most of his time in England rarely visiting this country, unless at the hunting season, when, accompanied by a host of friends he would indulge in all sorts of wild excitement.
    On a part of the Squires Estate there stood an old mill, almost in ruins and of which many curious and terrifying stories had been told. The squire offered a large sum of money to any person who would spend a night there.
    At length a young man, the only son of his widowed Mother, determined, in order to provide her with much needed nourishment to earn the reward. So one stormy night along with two of he Squire's servants he went to the mill. These men had been
