    The ancestors of the O'Reilly family had been celebrated in Irish History long before the establishment of surnames in Ireland.
    They are traced in the Irish Annals through a long line of powerful chieftains of East Breifney ( Co Cavan)
    Edmund O'Reilly, Chief of Kilnacrott had a son John, who had a son Brian, who had a son Malmore commonly called Myles the Slasher.
