  1. There are some holy wells in the parish of Mountnugent.
    There is a holy well in the townland of Kilbride and it is called St. Brigid’s well. It is beside the old graveyard of Kilbride.
    A story is told that a woman washed clothes in this well and that it closed up and broke out again on the opposite side of the road.
