    the water from it cures an ailment known as the “Rose.” If a man has the Rose a woman must get the water for him, and if a woman has the Rose a man must get it for her. The water is rubbed to the affected part.
    There are two holy wells in Ballinacree. They cure warts and the toothache.
    A story is connected with the formation of one of them. There was a bell in Killeigh which is now an old graveyard and is seldom used and there was a catholic church here long ago. In Cromwell’s time the
