Some years ago men were working in a gravel pit for Mr. Connell of Bective, and came across an old earthenware teapot which was full of golden coins. The exact spot where it was found can still be pointed out, and the old teapot remains in Mr. Connell's house in Bective.
N.B. It is not clear what became of the gold. But Mr Connell seems to have disposed of it.
