Sometimes they are welcome because they have very useful things. They stay one night only. The sleep in caravans on the side of the road or on lanes. They have no food only what they get from the people around. They stay in the country only because if the guards caught them begging at the doors they would arrest them. I do not know any of the travelling folk. I do not know if they come at special times for fairs or markets. They usually come in bands and they travel in caravans.
