When the father and mother were advanced in years, the daughter stayed at home to mind them. She knew she would get their property when they died. The father died of a stroke. His wife and daughter were at his death-bed as he was dying. His last words were to his daughter. "After I die, my girl, if you shall marry, do not marry a protestant.
