with the treasure. It is said that a life must be lost before the treasure can be gained.
Some years ago two local men came home from America, as they could not get rich quickly enough, and went one night to the lios. They began to dig around the stone, seeking for the treasure, when suddenly, the Dane jumped up and ran after the men until they came to their own house.
A man from this district ploughed the lios for three years in succession, with different horses each year, and each year when he came to the circle the horses would not plough it, but jumped across it with the plough.
