  1. 1. It is on the banks of a river that our forge is situated. Mr Holcroft is the smith and also the owner. The forge is over seventy years old.
    2. Mr Holcroft parents, and grandfather were all black smiths. The forge which he now occupies is made of canvas, and the bellows is made of good leather, and it is situated on the left hand side of the fire. The smith shoes horses, asses, he also repairs all farm impliments. He uses slack
