  1. There is a place near Doolough Lake called Cúilneach. It is supposed that the Danes lived there ,and they had crocks of gold hidden there, it was concealed from the people.it was covered with scrubbery and whitethorn,it was delightful to look at it and the beautiful air from the south.There are beautiful streams and rivulets descending from it.
