    the road that leads through Knock Lilynahilla ,Carhunagry and Doolough is said to be haunted ,at times by dogs and other animals ,the beanshee is often heard between Tom Cotter's and Downes bridge.Some years ago a man and a woman were passing by the place in a motor when they were attacked by a fierce dog which tore the back tyre off the car and it was never again found.On another occasion as a man was travelling alone by night in a horse and trap,he saw a black object on the road and he passed by a thing which he thought to be a horse,put its head in over the car and then disappeared.
