    A Story.
There is a story told of a poor widow woman and her daughter who came from Ulster and settled down in a place west of Doolough Lake called the Cúilneach. She was evicted from her home and farm. She travelled away before before her driving her only cow and carrying her churn. She said she would settle where-ever the cow would rest.
The cow lied down to rest in the Cúilneach and the woman made her home there.her daughter married a neighbouring man and her descendants are in that place yet.
