When the sky is red in colour in the north it is the sign of rain, fine weather, and when it is red in the south it is the sign of bad weather in the west is a sign of snow.
When a half moon is lying on its back it is said to be the sign of rain.
The wind from the north brings rain and snow and the wind from the east brings diseases and sickness.
When the birds come to the door it is the sign of snow and frost, and in the summer when the swallow flies close to the ground it is the sign of rain. When the seagulls come inland there is a storm at sea.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
