    When there is a red sunset it is a sign of a fine day also when the new moon stands on its end
    Smoke rising straight to the sky foretells fine weather.
    With the approach of fine weather, curlews go to the bog, swallows and swifts fly high, crows fly high when coming home at night, winds blow high, a fog comes on the river and it goes up the mountain very fast, the mountains look very far away.
    The Scarlet Pimpernel opens wide during fine weather and closes when wet weather is approaching. This little flower is called the poor man's weather glass.
