    The old people of Roscrea maintain that this fort is inhabited by the faries. There is also a fairy pass between the fort and Carrig Hill. Ill-luck befalls anyone who trespasses on this pass. Children will not pick nuts in a fairy fort as it is unlucky.
    There are a number of stones told about this fort. One Micheal Sharpe, a native of Roscrea was returning from a fair one night with a companion. They decided to take a short cut across the fort. They suddenly heard noises as if two teams were playing football in the fort.
