  1. The people in Roscrea long ago believed that if washing soda was rubbed to a wart, it would cure it.
    If a child had a chin cough the old people allowed a ferret to drink milk from a bowl. He was not allowed to drink all the milk. What was left in the basin was given to the child affected by the disease. This was supposed to cure the chin cough.
    When a person had a swollen leg or ankle his parent always took a cabbage leaf and roasted it over a fire. This leaf was pressed to the swollen leg and was supposed. The old people also put a poultice of
