  1. Local marriages take place during Shrove time. Money is generally given as a fortune to some girls. The wedding feast is held mostly in the girls house. Stock and goods are given to the boys.
    The month of May is an unlucky month for marriages.
    Matches are made in my district. June and September are lucky months of the year for marriages.
    People do remember marriages taking place in the houses. There is a hauling home held about a month after the marriage.
