Some years later a ship named the Helga struck midway between Ballycroneen and Ballybranagan. She was laden with wheat and was built of iron. She was a full-rigged ship and went to pieces during a thunderstorm.
Near Kelly's cave, about a mile east of Power Head, a brig went on the rocks. Her name was the Saga of Oscarsham. She was in ballast. Her crew must have abandoned her at sea, as there was no person aboard. She was sold to a merchant in Ballycotton.
