  1. There is a well on the outskirts of Mitchelstown, at a place called Mullberry. St Fanahans Well.
It was situated in the olden times in the centre of a field belonging to a local farmer.
The farmers wife usually washed her clothes in this well and this continued for some time.
One morning the people were astonished to see the well had moved to an adjoining field.
A large tree looks down on this well and hanging on it are some crutches, sticks, glasses, and hair pins these are said to be left there by people who were cured.
The feast day is on the 24th of November and on this day certain rounds are made. These are begun at midnight on the 23rd of November and are continued until midnight the 24th of November.
The people go round this many times continually praying. There is also a cup in the well and drops of water are taken
