  1. I The Bride must wear "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue".
    II Green is banned as this is considered unlucky.
    III Marriages do not take place on Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
    IV The Bridegroom must not see, or talk to the Bride on the night before the wedding day.
    V The Bridegroom rises very early on the Wedding Day, because he must be first to the church.
    VI Before the advent of motor-cars the pair to be married went to the church in carriages, on to which old shoes were tied, and two grey horses should be under each carriage.
    VII It is unlucky for the married girl to go into her mother's house for at least a month, for her clothes, or any other thing she needs, and when she is bringing them home, it is called the "hauling home".
