  1. There is a big high rock in the parrish of Kilshannig, overlooking the valley of the Blackwater. It is said that Cliona the Queen of the fairies of Munster lived in that rock and also that she had a home in a wave in Glendore. A part of the rock was used for making the concrete road into the Beet Factory from the main road. The stone of the rock was found to be very hard; so hard that the steel drill used for blasting operations could not hole it.
