  1. The ruins of the old mansion in which Thomas Russell was born is still to be seen the townland of Dromahane about a quarter of a mile from our school. The old mansion is now belongs to a local farmer named Mr. O Callaghan. It has not been occupied for over forty years. The last people who lived in it were a family named Horgans who now live the the adjoining farm. The name of this house is "Correy's House" because Correy's lived in it before the Horgans. It was said that this house was haunted but the ghosts that were seen there were only a few man-owls.
