- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The local poets were as follows in my district:- Maurice Callaghan and Maurice Kent were poets who earned their living making poetry. They lived in the townland of Gortmore but I don't know where exactly there. They were born in 1810 they were sixty years old when they died. They were exciled to France and to spain where they died. The gift of poetry was born with them. The name of a song they made was the Black Thorn Stick. I don't know why they made the song. They composed the songs in Irish. Poets didnt compete with one another in song making or they never attacked one another.
