  1. The Móin Mór = Probably received its name from the turf which was once dug in great quantities there.
    The Cairigins = Situated in Mr Buckleys farm. It consists of a huge mountainous field with little rocks or cairigíns projecting here and there, hence the name.
    The Breagh Gorm This field which is situated in Mr OLeary's farm in Ballincourneening probably derived its name from the blue flowers which grow there in great quantities.
