  1. Nails were made in forges long ago and sold not by their lengths as 2" 4" etc but 2d nails or 6d nails or 10d nails. They were very dear then. Rows of nails out cooling were an ordinary sight outside a forge in olden times. The smith shod horses and made all kinds of fine irons cranes etc farm implements.
    Forge water is a cure for diseases
