    A baby's nails should never be cut but biten off as they never grow if cut.
    "Monday's bearing is fair of face
    Tuesday's bearing is a child of grace.
    Wednesday's bearing is a child of woe.
    Thursday's bearing has far to go.
    Friday's bearing is loving and giving
    Saturday's bearing works hard for its living
    Sunday's bearing is bonny and happy and bright and gay"
    (said of children born on certain days of the week)
    If a stranger comes on Monday one will come on every other day of that week. Fowl or animals should not be killed on a Friday.
