- Some years ago when Mr Keane of Pookeen was ploughing a field, the plough stuck in a big stone. He and his son got it up with crowbars, and they found it to be a stone about two feet square, of a brown colour. It had a heart distinctly engraved on one side.
Mr Keane took it home and still has it.
The Canon went to see it and was very interested.
On the top of Milane Hill standing upright is a long narrow grey stone. On it are engraved queer marks and letters. I myself saw it last year.
The local people call it the "Finger Stone."Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
