Stockings are knit locally but the thread is bought and not spun and the price of the thread varies from threepence to one shilling per ounce. Spinning wheels are not to be found at present in any homes in the locality but there were formerly used.
At the death of a relative black clothes are usualy worn, but if these were not worn a crape is worn round the arm or hat. A special suit of clothes is worn on Sundays or on any local feast day. The suit is put aside and not worn during the week.
