    As he was passing down the village the four men who had watched him attacked him. Two of them led him by the beard through the village, and two others beat him with sticks. Then they rolled two empty porter barrels after him. He was so enraged at this treatment that next morning he and four police came to Mac. Sweeney's and broke the licence. The men could not be found.
