- There are many local beliefs with regard to the weather. When the sky is blue it is the sign of fine weather, and when the sky is black and cloudy we are near rain. When the sun rises red, and if the red spread in the sky that will be a very fine day, but if the red disappears that day will be wet. If the sun shines very early on a winter morning it is a bad sign of the day. If there is a circle around the moon and if it is going against the clouds we are near rain. If the stars are shining brightly it is freezing. If the clouds are black we are near rain.
