had to defend the country. Word came to Fionn that there was a dragon in Lough Derg and that he used to swallow all the people that he got up to. Fionn and his men went and when the dragon opened his mouth he swallowed some of Fionn's men. Fionn told Oscar to jump into the dragon's mouth. Oscar jumped and cut a slit in his throat and all Fionn's men tumbled out again. The blood of the dragon coloured the lake red and it was called Loch Dearg or the red lake.
